Cupping Massage

Picture
Cupping is a technique traditionally used in Eastern modalities (like acupuncture) to produce more effective circulation in areas of the body where there is pain and stiffness. The practitioner creates a vacuum in a cup and then places the cup on the skin of the client. The vacuum makes the cup stay in place on the skin and thereby improves local circulation. With new technology we as massage therapists have adapted this technique by using silicone cups and combining the suction with massage strokes. The end result is increased circulation, increased ROM and less pain. In short, an extra tool for the therapist, and relief for our clients. In this 2 day course we will learn how to use the cups in general, focus on some injuries, and do a facial cupping massage.

Raindrop Massage with Aromatherapy

Picture
Raindrop Massage is the use of healing properties of essential oils combined with specific massage techniques on the feet and back. It is used with great success by a wide variety of health-care practitioners and holistic centers around the world.

This non-invasive gentle technique has powerful cleansing properties and assists with improving spinal alignment.

They will observe an entire Raindrop Massage session which will include an explanation and demonstration of techniques used, followed by questions and answers and then practice giving, receiving and assisting a full Raindrop Massage session.

CST for the LMT

Picture
This course is designed to give you enough cranio-sacral techniques to use as a beautiful stand alone treatment or integrated as a part of you clinical/remedial massage practice. The objective of this course is to give you a greater understanding of the physical anatomy of the cranio-sacral system and learn how to palpate the rhythm, you will also discuss contraindications.
You will return to your practice with new, easy-on-your-hands skills, and an excellent background for further craniosacral training. One of the great things about CST is that it is non-invasive and works with the body’s natural ability to heal itself.

Hot stone Massage

Picture

Learn one of the most popular massage modalities in today’s spas and resorts – Hot Stone Massage. The use of smooth stones combined with Swedish techniques aid in increased circulation. The penetrating heat from the stones melts away muscle tension and promotes total relaxation. The stones become an extension of the therapist’s hands allowing the therapist to administer a deeper massage without great amounts of pressure. Learn how to integrate with tender points, MFR.
