Maternity Massage Essentials
With more and more expectant women enhancing their pregnancy experience
with massage therapy, it is important to know the essentials:
• Why and how to adapt your usual techniques to stay safe and be more
effective.
• How to safely and creatively support her ever changing body while
positioning her on the massage table.
• What the normal physiological and functional changes women
experience during pregnancy are.
• What the signs of any potential complications in pregnancy are &
appropriate responses.
This one-day, hands on, face-to-face workshop offers the essentials for
getting started in prenatal massage in a small group setting. Strengthen your
knowledge base to allow you to work with pregnant clients more confidently
and even more safely!
By featuring each body system’s typical prenatal adaptations, we give you
both the WHY and HOW of maternity massage therapy essentials. If you are
looking for a solid foundation for working with a woman that is having a low-
risk, uncomplicated pregnancy, this is the introductory workshop for you!

Michele Kolakowski and David Lobenstine
* OPTIONAL
Supplies:
Massage Table ( one for every 2 people)
1 set of sheets
1 towel & 2 smaller hand towels
2-4 pillows with cases (variety of size and density is great)
Hand sanitizer for you and wipes for your tables
Wear: comfortable clothes as practice and hands on will be fully clothed.
